| The main floor area is open plan with lots
of wood, exposed beams and cranberry and green accents, giving
the cottage warmth and ambience. We felt a real sense of conviviality
and could imagine a family or group of friends really enjoying
these surroundings. Off the kitchen there is a laundry room
and two piece bathroom to complete the downstairs accommodation.
A staircase from the lounge leads to a small landing and
three roomy and comfortable bedrooms. The bathroom has a door
to the landing and one to the master bedroom.
As summers will be mostly spent outside, it was great to
see different levels of decking for enjoying the hot tub,
barbecue or for just lazing around. The shaded walkway down
to the lake leads to a dock and firepit for enjoying those
star gazey nights, whilst the waterfront just invites swimmers
of all ages to have lots of fun.
For getting out and about, the town of Bancroft, known as
the 'Mineral Capital of Canada' is just 20 minutes to the
north; snowmobile trails pass the edge of the lake, and the
Hastings Heritage Trail is close by. And very conveniently,
there is a general store and bakery, with LCBO and Beerstore,
just five minutes away.
